Bringing home a new puppy is an exciting adventure, but it can also feel overwhelming. Between mastering those puppy-dog eyes and tackling potty training, it's easy to feel lost.
Puppy classes are usually designed for puppies younger than 6 months. Why do we have this cutoff? A couple reasons. Puppies and adult dogs play very differently. Puppies are less efficient in their movement and are generally trying out behaviors to test out responses. Adult dogs move with more efficiency and purpose. Also, puppies often can’t train for a solid hour, so taking breaks during training is super important. Lastly, we cover addressing common puppy problems, such as house training, chewing and mouthing.
We just changed up our puppy class format to shorten it to 4 sessions. What do we cover in puppy class?
Basic commands: "Sit," "stay," "come," and "down" – the building blocks of a well-behaved canine companion.
Socialization: Puppies will interact with other pups of similar ages in a safe and supervised environment, fostering confidence and building social skills.
Potty training: We'll equip you with the knowledge and tools to successfully housebreak your pup, setting you both up for success.
Puppy play: Supervised play sessions allow puppies to burn off energy, learn bite inhibition, and develop healthy play behaviors.
